Certificate types
Each certificate is graded according to the editorial rating your essay receives:
(i) for an editorial rating of 3 stars, a “Certificate of Commendation in English Literature” will be awarded;
(ii) for an editorial rating of 4 stars, a “Certificate of Distinction in English Literature” will be awarded; and
(iii) for an editorial rating of 5 stars, a “Certificate of Excellence in English Literature” will be awarded.

As of 1 January 2002, certificates will be sent to any registered user who submits an essay which receives an editorial rating of 3 or more stars, provided the user:
(i) uses a valid email address when submitting the essay; and
(ii) provides a mailing address (where the certificate will be sent) within 21 days of receiving their Notification of Award email.

The review process

Essays are reviewed by our editorial team, who assign each essay an editorial rating on a scale from 1 to 5 stars. For more information on the criteria used to assess essays, please read our editorial policy

Notification of Award
Whenever an essay receives an editorial rating of more than 3 stars, the person who submitted it will receive a separate Notification of Award email. Included in this email are instructions for adding a mailing address to your LiteratureClassics.com user account information. You must add a mailing address within three weeks of receiving the Notification of Award email in order to be eligible to receive the certificate.
 




When are certificates dispatched?
We send certificates either quarterly or every four months, depending on demand. The dispatch dates for 2002 are on 1 May, 1 August and 1 December.

How are certificates dispatched?
We send certificates by surface mail to any destination in the world. Please allow up to six months for your certificate to arrive, although most will arrive much sooner.

I submitted an essay prior to 2002. Am I eligible for a certificate?
We regret that we are unable to send certificates to users who submitted their essays prior to 2002. Please submit another one if you'd like a certificate!

Conditions of offer
1. As detailed above, you must provide a valid email address and you must provide a mailing address within 21 days of notification in order to be eligible for a certificate.  

2. The editors reserve the right to refuse to offer certificates to any particular user for any reason whatsoever. 

3. The editors reserve the right to change the details of this offer, or to withdraw it entirely, for any reason at any time without notifying users.
