Agatha Christie

1890 - 1976 *

Agatha Christie was a poet and authoress of detective mysteries.

Agatha Christie was a poet and authoress of children's books. To posterity, she would have remained so, had her sister not expressed a belief that the writer, nearing 30, could not handle the rules governing the detective mystery. The result was The Mysterious Affair At Styles, and some 70 subsequent intrigues followed, involving the Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot, and old Miss Marple as their unravellers.
