Poet's Market 2009 (Secular & Religious)
An extraordinary resource for poets, this book contains a subject index that you can use to look up markets by theme (including the topic headings "religious" and "spirituality").  The book has been completely updated for 2007.  It contains over 1,800 places to publish your poetry. 

Writer's Market 2009  (Secular & Religious)

A great resource for publishers and writers alike, this ring contains links to Christian magazines and resources for writiers.

Christian Publishers (Religious)
Listings provided by Christian On-line, including the 1997 Publisher's Guide, a thorough database.

Duotrope's Digest of Fiction Fields (Secular & Religious)
A free, searchable database of fiction markets (mainstream and genre), including a calendar of upcoming deadlines for themed publications. Listings are checked weekly and updated as needed.  Over 275 markets are listed, and over 90% of those listed are paying markets.

A general interest magazine for college educated readers, published by Catholics and circulated to 20,000 readers. 

eXtreme Christianity (Religious)
This 'zine seeks mainly music related articles and contains links to other Christian 'zines.

Green Tricycle, The (Secular)
Submission guidelines for a quarterly thematic zine. Payment: online publication.

Horsethief's Journal, The (Secular)
An award-winning literary magazine featuring poetry, memoirs, and short fiction.   Payment: online publication.

Image (Religious)
Image is a journal of arts and religion with 4,700 subscribers.

Mennonite, The (Religious)
A weekly publication using Christian free verse poetry.

Messianic Jewish Literary Corner   (Religious)
A place for writers of Messianic literature to publish online.  Payment: online publication.

Mr. Cogito (Secular)
Mr. Cogito seeks works with social-political themes that are moving and employ good sound and imagery.  Rights revert to the author after publication.   Mr. Cogito reserves the right to publish in anthology, electronic, or hard copy.  Payment: Publication.

Pens on Fire (Secular)
Pens on Fire seeks fiction, poetry, non-fiction (only about writing related topics), art, and music (song lyrics or composition). They publish work from writers who are just starting out and need a place to publish where there work won't be judged quite by the standards of other magazines. Pens of Fire is a secular magazine, but it will consider works with a religious tone if it is well done.  Payment: None at this time.

The Poets's Art (Secular and Religious)
Accepts poems, short stories, and artwork both religious and secular, so long the work is "family-friendly."

The Real Eight View (Secular & Religious)
This new online literary magazine was founded in 2004, and it is currently seeking submissions of stories, short fiction, art, and photography.

Rock and Sling (Religious)
A Journal of Literature, Art, and Faith that publishes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art "that nudges up against Christianity."

Saint Anthony Messenger (Religious)
A monthly Catholic magazine with a circulation of 340,000.

Speaking Leaves (Religious & Secular)
Speaking Leaves: Where Family Trees Find Voice is an online collection of poetry, short stories, essays, letters, anecdotes, family histories, and visual artwork by and about ancestors. Our hope is to become an online genealogical repository of literary and visual artwork by and about ancestors. Payment: Online Publication.

These! Poetry and Art Magazine (Secular & Religious)
These is a 20 page, spiral bound quarterly seeking submissions of art and poetry.   Open to spiritual themes of all kinds. Christian writers should be aware that the magazine publishes a variety of spiritually themed poetry, including pagan themes. No drug related topics or sexually explicit material is considered.

Thy Staff (Religious)
An electronic newsletter geared toward Christian groups and churches seeking short Christian devotionals as well as informational and inspirational pieces. Published writers are paid a three month subscription.

Upper Room, The (Religious)
The Upper Room publishes several magazines: Alive Now for adults, Pockets for children, and Devo'zine for teens.  Guidelines and themes may be found on the website.

Wellspring (Religious)
An electronic journal of Christian poetry.  Payment: online publication.

WestWard Quarterly (Secular and Religious)
A small, print poetry magazine published four times a year.  The magazine gives beginning writers a place to publish in a clean, family-oriented magazine stressing positive, uplifting work.
